How Does MiSight Work?

Soft Multifocal Contact Lenses

“MiSight is FDA approved therapy for myopia control”

Multifocal soft contact lenses are dual focus lenses with treatment zones. These peripheral near vision zone of center-distance multifocal lenses reduce hyperopic defocus. As a result, the peripheral light is focused in front of the retina, the reduces the elongation of the eye and slows myopia progression.

MiSight 1-Day contact lenses are the only contact lenses that are approved by the FDA to manage myopia in children ages 8-12 years. Evidence suggests that with a minimum use of 10 hours/day for 6 days a week, a mean change in axial length was 52% less in the treatment zone versus the control group. Also, there was a reduction of 59% in the refractive error over the course of 3 years of the study.
